What happened to 23 and what does this mean?
Remains of car after fire were buried under the garage of a TACA founder
if that is the case, lets dig them up!!!!!!

I recommend every one interested to see the largest collection of tucker everything to go to VA and see Dave Carrmac He has 01,22,26 plus an original test chassis. he has enough parts to make #1052 & #53!!!!!!! I think I saw 8 tucker engines both water and air cooled, the test car even has a 589 tucker motor. He also just bought 50 boxes of blueprints and other documents from the plant.

if any one out there knows how I could get a hold of Bob Bear in maine, please let me know? he lives 30 miles from me and I think owns 1033 and some say another one?

Pay me $250,000.00 for my home and garage and you can have all that remains of Tucker 1023 which was destroyed in a fire in DeLand, FL and I later purchased.
Also Mr Robert Bahre does live in Maine and he has many antique cars to go along with Tucker Serial Number 1023.
In reading this thread... Does Mr. Cammack have enough parts to really complete two cars and does he intend to complete/build two more cars?
Would love to see photos... What a great collection that must be.

Well I just found out that the collection will be passed on...
Will make a great display but sad that a car may never be finished.

Mr Bahre ownes Tucker 1033, I own Tucker 1023 and its remains were taken to a crusher and later placed under my garage. Dave Cammack ownes three complete Tucker's 1001, 1022 and 1026. He also has a test chassis that has a 589 engine installed. Dave also has several Tucker 335 engines mounted on stands and on display at his museum.

Crusher

Richard, why did you send 1023 to the crusher after the fire? Seems that just about anything can be restored these days. Any other photos of it? Can someone still e-mail you to find out what happened?

Tucker 1023

Postby plancor 792 » Sat Sep 03, 2005 9:44 am

I was able to purchase Tucker 1023 about 2 years after it was destroyed in a fire in DeLand, FL. The owner was going to sue the storage company and did not want to sell what was left of it so it sat outside for that period of time. By the time I was able to purchase it the body had rotted to the point that it was no longer restorable. After removing items such as bumpers, suspension, stainless steel and other items, I took the shell and frame to a crusher. Later I decided to build a cement block, 2 1/2 car garage and decided that a final resting place for 1023 should be under the garage so a deep hole was dug, Tucker 1023 was placed there and covered with dirt and then the garage was built. This garage has since been the home for Tucker's 1022, 1026 and 1028 as I worked on them for their owners.

Richard,
Thank you for the explanation. Sometimes reading your posts you come off as a bitter person (like having to respond numerous times to the same question) but you provided the answer to this question in a very professional manner. Thanks again.

Eric, sorry if some of my responses appear that I am "bitter". Really don't mean to be but I would like to see people who want answers to questions do some of their research and not want everything handed to them on "a silver platter". You would be surprised to learn that many people contact me at my email address wanting me to write a complete article on Tucker so they can hand it in at school or college. Years ago I did respond to those request and ask the person who requested the information to send me a copy of their report. To date not a single reply however I have read here and there articles I wrote being used word for word without any credit given to me for the article. So while I hope I am not coming across as bitter, I would like to see credit given in a few of those items that get reprinted.
Thanks to the original group that met in Wellington, KS to form TACA, today we have considerably more information than ever before on Tucker Corporation.
That group met on 15 July 1973 and consisted of Stan Gilliland and his wife Linda, Bev Feriera and his wife Lillian, Jay Busker and his wife Eva,
Curtis Foester and his wife Delona, Dave Cammack, Ray Wiysel, Fred Fetner, Joe Walker, Harry Wilson and Richard Jones.
It was agreed at that time we should start a club and the First Annual Tucker Club Meet was scheduled to be held July 21 & 22,1974 in Wellington, KS.

Today there are still many persons adding to the history of Tucker Corporation. Not a week goes by that we don't receive new information. Larry Clark has done an outstanding job in his research as have many others. Bill Pommering and Pat Fortin publishing our Tucker Topics for years and Jay Follis for his never ending work with the Tucker Historical Collection and Library. These are just a few of the many who have contributed a wealth of information on Tucker Corporation. We have even had those who attempt to add to the number of Tucker's built by giving us information on a new "find" but when we attempt to get details we very seldom hear from them again. This has gone on for years and years and will possibly never end.
